Hello Friends!

I’m back today with another Spring inspired art tutorial. Today I will be sharing how to create a Spring planner layout. I use my planner religiously. One of my favourite things to do in my planner is to create planner spreads with a theme. With the arrival of Spring, I thought this would be the perfect way to celebrate. Read on below, to see how you can create your own Spring planner layout.

Supplies

  • Planner (I’m using the Passion Planner)
  • Tombow Twin Tone Markers (The Rainbow Collection)
  • Tombow Mono Drawing Pencil
  • Tombow Mono Eraser
  • Tombow Mono Drawing Pen (I used size 03)
  • Tombow Dual Brush Pen (N15)
  • Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen

Tips

  • Place a piece of scrap paper underneath your planner pages to ensure the ink does not leak through.
  • Ensure your ink is completely dry before erasing!
  • Add fun Spring bucket list items to complete your planner page spread.

Step 1: Sketch

Start by sketching out some lettering and fun spring doodles onto your page spread, using the Tombow Mono drawing pencil. Some fun Spring doodle ideas are flowers, rain, umbrellas, rain boots, rain drops, clouds, sunshine – the list can go on!

As you can see, I choose to strategically draw a flower vine on the border of each day. I also choose to emphasize the blank space on the bottom of the page by placing some lettering.

Step 2: Add Colour

Using the Tombow Twin Tone markers, add colour to your design! I choose to use the Rainbow collection of the Tombow Twin Tone markers as to me, rainbows represent Spring. I love all of the bright colours this collection comes in and its just what this Spring inspired planner spread is in need of.

I also used the Tombow Fudenosuke brush pen and the Tombow Dual Brush pen in N15 to create my lettering ‘Hello Spring’. I love the contrast this creates with the overall page design. I also outlined boxes on the page to add more colour to the design.

Step 3: Outline

No sketch is ever complete without a good outline! Using the Tombow Mono drawing pen, outline all of the sketches on the page. Once the ink has completely dried, erase all of the pencil lines using the Tombow Mono eraser.

I hope you try this idea for Spring inspired planner page spread. Or maybe you could try this idea in your bullet journal too. It’s such a fun way to celebrate the start of a new season!

If you try this project, I would love to see what you come up with. Tag me in your creations! I am interested to see in what Spring inspired doodles you draw.
